Recipe - Peppermint Bark

Today we are going to make Peppermint bark! this has to be the easiest holiday recipe as it involves just melting the chocolate!

Items Needed
Crushed peppermints - I like to use the soft ones
white chocolate
Peppermint flavorings, optional
Milk Chocolate, optional
Cookie cutters

How to
So what I like to do, is take cookie cutters from dollar store /etc and line them with the chocolates! It make a easy quick gift.

If you are using the cookie cutters, lay out some parchment paper and set your cutters down so they will not stick. If you want to make squared/etc just use a mold for these.

This is optional as well, melt the milk chocolate and put a small layer down. When doing peppermint bark I like the two tone look. You can leave it out if you like.

In a baggie or good processor, crush your peppermints.

To melt the chocolates, I use a microwave in small intervals, usually like 30 seconds and stir. Once it is melted add in the crushed peppermints. Add the dustings first, then leave out some larger pieces, to add to the top of the final piece. Try to keep them small still, as it will be chunky looking otherwise.

Once mixed, you can ad peppermint flavor to taste - however if you add in the dustings of the peppermints, it should flavor it nicely. Once flavored to where you want, pour into the molds cutter. Do not add it to thick, it can be hard to get out of the cookie cutters if its thick, and its not as pleasant to eat thick. Add in small pieces on top for decorative purposes.

If you are using the cookie cutters, be sure to wrap in plastic before giving! If you are keeping them you can pop them out and they will be fun shapes too!
