Eats - Walnut Room Pizza

Time for more pizza, cause apparently I eat nothing else. 

We got a gift card at work for helping a home owner with their roof. It was for Walnut Room and $50. I really was excited to try a new place, one for free cause I am a cheap person, and two I was super hoping it was similar to Andolini's - the best pizza in Tulsa. The prices and descriptions were similar. 

Anyway, we got a BBQ blues and pepperoni pizza. I donno if it was an off day, or what but I was just surprised that the pizza was not amazing. Again I was expecting my $23 pizza to taste fantastic. It was more like standard pizza. I would never have paid that much for that quality of pizza. The pie's were large, but that is about it. I was super disappointed but I am glad it was free and its always nice to try new places. Yes I would try them again, because everyone has off days, but no I would not pay that much for a pizza personally.

Would you go back? No, this pizza was free from work and I was just surprised for the cost to pizza ratio.

Overall I was sad, as I was hoping it'd be similar to Andolini's but atlas, still looking for the best in Denver - the current champ is still Mannie and Bo's - amazing there.

Eats - DP Dough

Time to start review and judging local places again >3 this last week, 10/14 we ate at this pizza place called DP Dough here in Denver. It was quite and has been kinda empty in the workplace so one day me and a co worker go lunch and brought back calzones to the office. I got two, a BBQ pizza one and a chicken parm one. Both were amazing. I did half and half and split with Josh as I knew this place was on his radar as well.

A great way to keep my business too, order online. I am lazy and hate calling things in. Also point systems are nice, and they have one. I ordered all my co workers on my account (sneaky) and got a free soda for next time

Would you go back? yes, It is going on list. Sucks they do not deliver to my neighborhood or they’d be ordered from more often.

Eats - Thai Basil

Playing catch up still, so going to review lots of things until I get caught back up~ ❤

Thai basil is a fast food kinda mixed Asian eatery. They had them in Tulsa, but I never got around to eating there. My current co-workers love it so I started eating there as well. I like Panda Express but this place is a little less 'fast foody'. I also get the Chicken Lo Mein, anymore it is my favorite. 🌟 They have excellent apps as well. We were eating here about once every two weeks but whole office is cutting back on eating out, so less now.

Food: Really good
Service: Simple and quick, they deliver too
Interior: Decent, always got take away
Price: Middle, not cheap but not expensive, around a 8 dollar lunch

Would you go back? absolutely, love this place for when I am in the mood for noodles. As I said I like Panda Express, but I like my noodles juicy, and this place delivers great saucey noodles with mixed veggies and tons of onions. The way to my heart is onions.

Eats - Big Daddy's Pizza

With work for both of us getting more hectic as we get it all sorted out and transition to our new jobs - we get more and more lazy for food. Big Daddy's Pizza is like little Caesars, which I think they have here too. Pizza was on par with them, it is what it is. A cheap 5$ pizza. They have other products I would like to give a try as well, and I do like being able to just go and get one. Seriously when you broke and lazy, this is the best dinner.

Food: It is what it is, nicely done
Service: Simple and quick
Interior: Small but it gets it done
Price: Cheap
Would you go back? absolutely, its quick, cheap and easy dinner.

Eats - Man Wah Denver

Got some excellent Chinese the other day at work. Did some googling and found Man Wah near my job at I70. I of course ordered chicken lo mein and some shrimp and picked it up. It was pretty good, I still like my place near the house best, but I would rank it above Panda Express lo mein still, not their chicken dishes though.

Food: Excellent
Service: Picked it up, was not busy
Interior: Kinda empty
Price: Cheap

Would you go back?Yes, wouldn't mind trying a few other dishes, wish for coconut shrimp though!

Eats - Fat Jack's Subs

We ate at this sub place the other day for work. We just wanted to get something quick so we all ordered and picked them up. I got a meatball sub as I love those. I was not impressed with the taste. It was fast and it was not bad, so I would not say I would never hit it up again but I would try something new as well.

Josh loved Snarf's and I did not, I am just not a huge sandwich fan really. I would say they were above Subway quality for sure, but could use some more flavor in their subs. I would have added spinach for example if I could have. 

I would head back if work was going as a convenience but not seek them out again by myself.

Eats - Jake's Bar Denver

With the new job the group took me out a few weeks ago. It was really nice. I won't lie, Target took forever to get people to warm up to me~ and I am friendly as hell, I think it is just harder when you do not see each other every day consistently. Anyway this place was really nice.



Jake's Food and Spirits is a bar near new work that celebrates happy hour and etc everyday!

I had a burger, and it was delicious. They had sweet potato tots as well, and service was fast as we went at lunch time and had to go back eventually. Their rings are very good as well. We hit it up for a happy hour once as well. I would had loved to try the wings but I am a pansy when it comes to heat, so another time

Food - Paxia Denver

At the new job we have hit a few new places to eat. This one was Mexican, and honestly I am not a fan of the style of food, however I am always up for Steak and Onions which is usually a staple at them so I can still eat with friends when they want to go there.

Anyway we went to this location, Paxia – its kinda tucked away.

I got steak and onions, of course. Work mates said it was awesome and they eat there a lot and such. It took forever for our food, then it was kinda laid out funky. The steak I got was by itself, did not have onions on it either. It was expensive as well. I did not want to send it back as it had already been so long but man it was so strangely served. It was served well done, not medium, with sliced zuccini which I do not mind, it was good – and rice. Small sizing for the cost.

Over all I would not go back, it was dissapointing since they kinda hyped it up. The menu was limited as well, only two pages. I was surprised but its a lunch place so I imagine its typical.

Patzi's Pizza Denver

Finally got to try a deep dish pizza the other day! I swear we eat more pizza than New Yorker's. Its just so damn easy to find.

Anyway this time we tried Patxi's pizza, which has been on the list anyway and its near our absolute favorite ice cream joint - Glaciers. So we got a amazing deep dish, simple to try. 




Not my photo, but yes just like that. It was amazingly deep and had sauce on the top it was very hard to eat! It was good but I thought the sauce was too sweet. The bread we good and the cheese. I would give it another go around with another flavor more likely.

Eats - Slice Works

We eat more pizza that we should, seriously. Anyway we were out for good eats the other day, like a week or two ago and this one popped up on Yelp! We got free Garlic Knots for reviewing them, always check for great deals! 

The setup was great, this is a great place for a quick lunch. Fast service, drinks up stairs and HUGE portions. Mostly NY style but there are great calzones and such too.



We had white pizza, a Sicilian slice and then the knots. We got a Chicken and Waffle to go. The White pizza was the best we've had, but I was not a fan of the Sicilian. I would go back. It also had good parking so that is important, specially around Colfax here in Denver.

I would say this was on Par with our Golden Trip, however this place had some crazy combos! Their basic slices were GREAT but then you have options for things like Chicken and Waffles, that is pretty cool. We love variety so it was nice. They also had rainbow cookies, which are always good!

Food: Excellent!

Service: FAST! Good lunch spot

Interior: Easy going, would eat in again

Price: CHEAP - amazingly cheap for the size of the slice

Eats - Mannie & Bo's Pizza

We were traveling around Golden just for a nice drive and decided to get something to eat. If you couldn't tell we keep a list of places to try based on Yelp and Urban Spoon,etc and this was on there and we were near so we hit it up

This pizza was the best we had to date D: it is rated very highly in the area and boasted being the best in Denver area. 

It was so good. We got a white slice and slice with onions and then some french toast. The toast was amazing by itself, it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Delicious.

The pizza had really good crust, NY style of course, and was super flaky and good. The only better crust was the Sicilian Bakery, but the taste was better on these. I love white pizza and they had cream cheese on theirs and it was just so good! I would hit this anytime I am near, or far for that matter. 

Food: Excellent!

Service: Busy! But got it by the slice

Interior: compact, probably wouldn't eat in again

Price: Afforable

Would go back: Yes, sooner than later!

Foodie Friday - Mooyah

Just a quick one, its kinda fast foodie. I liked the fries, they gave you tons and I am a fry person. However Josh disliked it a lot. It was not as good as comparable priced places - burger wise. So probably will not go back. But we did try it finally. Just not much to say on it.

Been having a great couple of weeks. Still no job, sadly but at least Target does pay the bills. I got all my Space items ready to post in March - Cannot wait! I am waiting on Mermaid pieces but I should have those soon. I got all my ball necklaces in so they are all standard now.

We are also planning to hit the Mall and a job convention that day as well. I took off the weekend already so that worked out. Doing OK on money but would love Josh to get that job D: will be getting very poor by end of April. 

I have a couple more things I need to get ready but still staying on top of blog things. I am so proud D: Josh got me an Iphone 4 from his parents so I can now update more, we also combined our plans so I have a little more wiggle room. Updating Instagram and FB with as much as possible. 

This week Redbubble added leggings! I am so excited, they cost a ton tho! D: but I always wanted to do some like Holley Tea Time/etc so I started posting up ideas already. I mostly had these in my head as I wish I owned them D: so yeah. More to come. I want to do a galaxy one and a macaroon one as well. Exciting.

  

I did a bow garland for spring, which will be up next week as well as March's box calender. I WANT to do videos of my drawing characters, need to get back into that - but I am not sure what software that would be...

Arte's Pizza Loveland

So we ate at another amazing pizza place the other day! This time we were up north near Loveland looking around and enjoying the area~

 

Saw many deer, turkey's and a fox. Anyway we ate at Arte's Pizza in Loveland, and it was really good. I would hit it anytime up there. They have it by the slice, which is always a great deal anyway, 

We got Cheese, a white pizza and and another slice, can't remember but all were great. The white was my favorite. Also got a pizza rolio thing. It was good as well, crust was super crisp.

I nabbed dessert, but it was terrible. I do not suggest getting any of them. They were pricey but I like to try things when we are out, so we got the cheesecake and mouse, both were not in house, or if they were, they were days old. Not worth it. Hit up one of the awesome ice cream places on the way back to Denver!

Again, awesome pizza. Pick up dessert somewhere else. 

Hoping to head back up north in a week or so, I liked the forest up there, it was very nice, bit cold but lovely.

Eats - Crave Burgers

 

These burgers were amazing. I want to go back and get another soon. I really suggest them. I got a pesto one, called Wise Guy and Josh had the Love Stinks - filled with onions and garlic. I loved it. We split them down the middle so we could try both.

Their fries were awesome too. We had the garlic and sweet potato. We were too full to try a shake but I want to try their grasshopper later. 

I want to try the Drunken Onion next! :9

Eats - Top Notch / Pie at Estes

I don't think I mentioned this one before, but we hit this place up every time we got to Este Park. I like their bakery. The cinnamon rolls aren't good, I donno why, but the rest of items are amazing. The lemon bars are amazing too! I love them





Yes, I need Pie

This place is new to us, but has been in downtown Este for a bit. The pie was really good. We have been mourning our loss of our pie place in Tulsa - Antoinette's. This place is very nice, their pies have been good so far, can't wait to get some more.

Eats - BJs Brewhouse

We ate here when we went to Estes last week, I loove this place. Seriously the best chain restaurant there is! We ate here in OKC several times, and were like maybe its a fluke its so good, but its always consistently good. 

I got the deep dish Lasagna this time around, it was so good I ate myself into a food coma. It was so great. We got a caramel salted pizookie and the appetizer probably over did it but it was wonderful. 

We ate in Boulder, but there are a couple here as well. My favorite place to hit up when you just don't know what you want. Or you want a cookie.

Eats - New York Deli

New York Deli

We had lunch at the New York Deli here in Denver on 1/8. It was really good. Wish we had gotten breakfast, was original goal but the place we want to try - Snooze - is insane busy everyday! D: we been trying to get in for a few weeks and have not been able to.

I got a burger and Josh a sandwich, it was huge and delicious. Would eat here again. Would love to try their breakfast as I said. Fries were really good.

I gotta learn to take pictures I know.

It has a great review on Urban Spoon as well. I had Chicken Lo Mein and Egg Drop soup, my favorites D: so I will be going back here for sure. I didn't get to try the crab wantons so I will have to go back!

I saw a few reviews say they were rude, I had no issues, they even knew I worked nearby. I am pretty sure I checked them out before. Quick lunch too, I went in around 1:10 and was out by 2, it was perfect for a quick lunch!

Woot!

2014 flew by for me, we finally got moved to Denver after saving for a couple years and even though we are still looking for permanent jobs, we are lucky that we have found a great place with our current employer, never under estimate being able to eat!

For 2015 I am hoping for more great things! I like to keep a list so I keep on track. I am not going to list the little goals/ideas for post - as I have been jotting those down as well!

Lose another 50lbs

This one is personal, as a chubby person I am really happy and I like to eat snacks D: so I am setting goals very slowly so its a lifestyle change and doesn't hurt T_T I like to snack. I'd like to loose another 50 towards my healthy weight this year. If curious I am hovering around 300lbs at 6 foot tall so I pudgy yes. I would like to weigh around 200, as I do not want to be to small for my build and such. I am pretty amazony-shaped. 

Use Facebook/Social Media More

Because I suck at it. I do it for a living, or use to, so you'd think I would be good at this! I would like to set a personal goal of updating my normal FB once a week - for friends and family, and my Shouho one every post update. Hoot suite even lets me schedule Instagram and Twitter and such, so I have no excuse. I will be doing this more this year.

Create more art pieces/shows/etc

This one is kinda hard to quantify, as I am not sure where to go. I would like to get more professional I guess it what I am saying. I need to pump out more updates to art sites as well as actually go to events to show my work. This would help with making money for it to keep doing it.

Save 1000$ again/Pay off Loan#1

Again personal, I want to have at least 1000 in the savings by end of year and pay of the smallest student loan I have. I can do this working at Target and being frugal, so if I get a better job should hit this nail quickly. 

Read more actual books

Start Herb garden/Feed Birdys!

Just some basic stuff, I love fresh basil. Seriously may just do basil. I just want to feed the birds cause I can. I love watching them here!
